Professor Qiao Guanjun Honored as Member of National Hundred-Thousand –Ten Thousand Talents Project
Recently, Professor Qiao Guanjun from School of Materials Science and Engineering has been successfully listed among National Hundred-Thousand- Ten thousand Talents Project 2014 released by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security. Professor Qiao is also honored as Young and Middle-aged Expert with Outstanding Contribution to Jiangsu Province.
National Hundred-Thousand-Ten Thousand Talents Project is initiated by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security in joint efforts with the Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Finance, National Development and Reform Commission, National Natural Science Foundation of China, and China Association for Science and Technology, so as to strengthen the construction of high-level professional talents. It aims at focusing efforts in nurturing hundreds of excellent scientists, engineering technologists and theoreticians pioneering in international scientific researches, thousands of academic leaders pioneering in various disciplines or technical fields, as well as tens of thousands of young outstanding talents making remarkable achievements and playing key roles in various fields.
In recent years, guided by the principle of High-level, Youth and Internationalization, Jiangsu University has greatly endeavored to adopt the strategy of building up a comprehensively strong university through talents. It keeps on broadening channels for talent introduction and makes constant improvements in creating a good environment for talents so as to build up a high-level talent team. Professor Qiao was introduced in 2013. He has won Second National Prize for Sci-Tech Advancement and First Prize of Technology Invention Awards by Ministry of Education. In 2013, he was honored as Jiangsu Provincial Dual Innovative Talent. In 2014, he was honored as National Young/Middle-aged Science & Technology Leading Talent by Ministry of Science and Technology. He has published 165 academic papers indexed by SCI, obtained national approval for 61 patents for invention and hosted more than 20 projects funded by national and provincial governments, making great contributions to the development of materials science.
Up until now, Jiangsu University has 6 professors incorporated into National Hundred-Thousand-Ten Thousand Talents Project.
