Professor Frank Keith Birkin at the University of Sheffield lectures in JU

April 16, Professor Frank Keith Birkin at the University of Sheffield of Britain visited JU and gave a lecture entitled “Management, sustainability and enterprise” in Room 1501 of Sanjiang Building. In his presentation, Professor Frank Keith Birkin pointed out that with the rise in the awareness of social responsibility of the stake holders, Chinese scholars should fix their attention on the corporate sustainable development, introduce the concept of environment management into the corporate daily routine and construct a better corporate environment management system.

The main research fields of Professor Frank Keith Birkin include corporate environment management and sustainability accounting. He has headed such programs as “Building Capacities for Corporate Environmental Management: A Study of Experiences in the Yunnan and Jiangsu Provinces of the People’s Republic of China” sponsored by the European Union, “Transforming the Corporate Sustainable Development Model of the People’s Republic of China” sponsored by the British Government, etc. His publications include a monograph called “Sustainable Development in Essence: Knowledge, Science, Enterprise and Sustainability”.  ????
