Russian teachers and students visit JU for cultural experience

On the afternoon of March 25, 6 teachers and students from Stavropol, Russia came to experience the Chinese culture in the campus of Jiangsu University. The activities they took part in included learning to speak Chinese, to write Chinese characters and to make paper-cut for windows with their own hands.
The Russian visitors attended lively “Chinese Culture” classes taught by Xu Dan and Zhai Jiang at the International Center for Chinese Language, the College of Overseas Education, Jiangsu University. To them, this was the first time they had had an experience of the Chinese culture and they were deeply impressed by the beautiful environment of Jiangsu University and the inspirational lesson of their Chinese teachers. They expressed wishes to learn more about the Chinese culture in future for they had felt both challenges and amusement in the process of learning Chinese calligraphy and paper-cut. And they wanted to visit more scenic spots in Zhenjiang, a beautiful city well-known in the world for fragrant vinegar. Some visitors further expressed the wishes to come back to Jiangsu University to learn Chinese in future. In 2012 Zhenjiang and Stavropol became sister cities and the visit to Jiangsu University by the 6 Russian teachers and students was one of the activities arranged for the purpose of promoting the friendship between the two cities.
