Warning: Utilization of Access Control System at Overseas Apartment

Published:2014-09-05

Access Control System is an important part of building safe and secure environment on campus. The official running of this facility started from November 25, 2013, but till now there is low awareness and only some students utilize the card-swipe entry system. Overseas Education College (OEC) has received complains of theft and infiltration by unknown persons into the apartment. Though the situation is like that, only a few started using the campus card. We are therefore reaffirming this as part of the safety measures and regulations for overseas students.

In order to assist the management to provide maximum security and protection for all students living in the overseas apartments, you are obliged to take note of the following precautions:

1. Access control system only recognizes the campus card, which belongs to students who live in the apartment.

2. Please, carry your card with you anytime, anywhere.

3. Swipe your own card during entering and exiting the apartment.

4. Do not lend your card or swipe the card for others.

5. If you forget your card, please do registration at the front desk. (Registration in this case can be done for only three times. If used up, there will be some punishment like cutting off electricity in your room.)

6. If you lost your card, please reclaim at the information center within three days.

7. Students should note that the system has 24-hour camera function, which photographs anyone who does not swipe their card.

8. Please, maintain a normal walking speed and keep distance when passing through the access control system channel machine.

9. Do not crowd or rush to swipe.

10. Please, do not have unreasonable quarrel with the administrative staff.

11. Do not modify system settings, defile or destroy the system equipment.

Students who deliberately refuse to obey the above precautions will face the following consequences:

a. List of students who refuse to swipe cards will be regarded as staying outside whole night and will receive punishment from Overseas Education College.

b. Affected students’ room will be powered off.

c. Power will be restored only upon receipt of response from OEC.

d. Affected student takes responsibility of the effect of the power-off to his /her roommate.

Please, keep in mind that, students who violated the above will be punished according to the relevant rules and regulations of the University.
