The Glamour of Chinese Characters

On theafternoon of Apr.26th.2014,the international department of the School of Food and Biological Engineering and the Overseas Education School hosted jointly a Chinese corner with theme of "theGlamour ofChinese Characters" at Lake Tranquility.

At the beginning, the Chinese students and international students mixed with each other and were divided into five groups .Firstly, they organize the part called "Chinese Language”. The foreign students experienced the profound Chinese culture. Then, the activity came into the second segment named "Poetry Teaching”. The foreign students read the poem with heads nodded and learn it with relish. At last, foreign students communicated with Chinese students freely and shared their anecdotes in different country with each other.

The activity has carried n the simple Chinese culture teaching and Learning in the form of the games. Not only did the activity cultivate friendship between Chinese and foreign students in the communication and improve understanding among the students, but also developed the ability of English expression of our Chinese students. In addition, Chinese students got more familiar with the habits of English expression that the foreign students are accustomed to speaking.
