EBOLA Infections: Precautionary Measures against It
Dear Students,
As we are all aware that 2014 west-African Ebola outbreak is the worst Ebola scenario in history and we have to follow high safety measures and quarantine to protect ourselves, our family, friends and our community. Ebola is highly contagious, especially once the infected started showing symptoms. As a precautionary measure, the Center for Disease Control have issued regulations of health observation that have to be apprehended/implied to students returning from countries with current known outbreak (Guinea, Liberia, Nigeria and Sierra Leone) and the rest of the African continent.
As per the regulation:
1. Students returning from Guinea, Liberia, Nigeria and Sierra Leone:
A. Duration of mandatory health observation: 3 weeks after arrival.
B. Should be present for daily body temperature monitoring.
i. Venue: First floor of Overseas Apartments
ii. Time: 7:30 am and 1:30pm every day
C. Should report* any symptoms relating to Flu or Ebola hemorrhagic Fever**.
D. Should wear masks at all times in public.
2. Students returning from other African countries:
A. Duration of mandatory health observation: 3 weeks after arrival.
B. Should collect mercury thermometer (1 pc.) from the overseas apartment reception. Self-measure body temperatures twice a day during the period.
C. Should report* any symptoms relating to Flu or Ebola hemorrhagic Fever**.
D. Should wear masks at all times in public.
* Any student experiencing high body temperatures [normal range = 36.5–37.5 °C (97.7–99.5 °F)] should report to their class teachers or Dr.Arun (Mob:15695117217, Room:1027)
** Common symptoms of Ebola Hemorrhagic Fever are but not limited to high body temperatures, fatigue, headaches, joint, muscle and abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea and loss of appetite etc.
