University President Delegation from Ontario Visits JSU
Form Nov. 3 to Nov.7, a delegation comprising presidents of Carleton University, University of Ottawa, McMaster University and York University, visited Jiangsu University (JSU). President Yuan Shouqi and Vice President Chen Long met the guests and had a cordial conversation with them.

At the meeting, President Yuan extended warm welcome to the delegation and hoped 
to explore cooperation widely. Director of International Office Li Zhongxing 
gave an overview of JSU, highlighting the characteristics and main landmark 
achievements of the discipline construction, scientific research, postgraduate 
education and other aspects. 
   The delegation head Professor Peter Ricketts 
expressed their wishes to enhance the understanding of Jiangsu - Ontario student 
exchange program (OJS program) and further strengthen friendly relations between 
Canadian universities and Jiangsu universities, esp. Jiangsu University. After 
that, Professor Peter Mascher, Gary Slater and Robert Hache introduced 
respectively the geographical location, school development, discipline 
construction, talent cultivation, subject distribution, characteristic specialty 
and so on of their universities.
   The delegation also visited the National 
Research Center of Pumps and National-Local Joint Engineering Research Center 
for Hybrid Vehicles Technology on campus accompanied by Vice President Prof. 
Chen. 
   In 2008, the Education Department of Jiangsu Province and Canada 
Ontario College and University Education Training Department signed agreement on 
OJS program in Nanjing. Jiangsu universities under this program include Nanjing 
University, Southeast University, Jiangsu University and the other eleven 
colleges and universities. Canadian universities under this program include 
Carleton University, Ottawa University, York University and the other twelve 
colleges and universities.
   Representatives from International Office, 
Department of Science and Technology, Graduate School, School of Automotive and 
Traffic Engineering and Research Center of Fluid Machinery Engineering and 
Technology also attended the meeting.
